About Felix Blanco, M.D.

Dr. Felix Blanco comes to St. Croix Health with more than a decade of experience as a general surgeon. He completed medical school in his home country of Bolivia and moved to the United States to pursue his surgical training. After finishing his general surgery residency at Howard University in Washington D.C., Dr. Blanco joined a research facility where he participated in cancer immunology and pediatric surgery research. Dr. Blanco then moved to the Midwest to focus on transplant surgery training at the University of Minnesota.

Over the last decade, Dr. Blanco has dedicated his practice to serving rural communities by delivering general surgical care to underserved communities. His practice at St. Croix Health will include surgical procedures like hernias, vein disorders, acid reflux, breast disease, esophageal, gastrointestinal, and colorectal diseases. Beyond these procedures, Dr. Blanco has specific interest in helping patients with gastroesophageal reflux and using different therapeutic modalities, including innovative procedures for treatment.

Outside of the operating room, Dr. Blanco enjoys drawing, crafting, and reef keeping.
