What is a virtual visit?

Virtual visits, also called telehealth appointments, provide patients with the convenience and flexibility to see a healthcare provider through a video conference call. This is an important option for patients to keep their healthcare on track.

Can I see my primary doctor?

Usually, yes, but not all of our providers are set up to see patients through virtual visits. When you call to schedule, please ask the Patient Access Representative about the availability for your specific provider.

Will insurance cover a virtual visit?

A virtual visit usually costs the same as an in-person appointment, depending on insurance.

What technology do I need for a virtual visit?

You will need a smartphone, laptop, or mobile device like a tablet with broadband internet access. We will ask you to perform the test on our website page to check the functionality of your device and connection.

How can I prepare for a virtual visit?

You can prepare for your virtual visit as you would an in-person appointment. Suggestions for this include:

  • Writing down symptoms and/or questions you would like to discuss
  • Be able to provide a list of current medications and any recent home monitoring readings, such as blood pressure or glucose
  • Test your device before you begin through our Virtual Visit website page
  • Find a quiet, private space for the visit
