Diagnosis & Treatment for Sleep Disorders

When you can’t sleep, you’re losing more than just a good night’s rest; you’re losing your physical and mental stability which causes your entire body to suffer. Having a good consistent sleep pattern is important for your overall health and wellness. The Sleep Center provided by St. Croix Health, is a fully accredited facility by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. We provide diagnosis and treatment for various sleep disorders for patients of all ages.

Sleep disorders we treat include:

  • Sleep apnea
  • Insomnia
  • Inverted circadian rhythm
  • Restless leg syndrome
  • Narcolepsy

The Sleep Study

To diagnose your condition, we need to observe your sleep patterns. This will help us identify what’s causing your inability to remain asleep which can lead to a treatment option or solution. The sleep study is an overnight exam performed at St. Croix Health. During this study, you will be connected to devices that monitor your heart rate and other vital signs while you're asleep. You will spend the night in a quiet and comfortable bedroom that is equipped with cable television and an adjacent bathroom to help you feel more at home.

Sleep studies are painless and noninvasive; no injections or incisions are required. When the test is finished, you will be sent home while our team analyzes the results. We will then contact you to discuss the diagnosis and treatment options.
